How do I book an experience?
All experiences and reservations are booked online. Book your experience here!
Evening Sessions: Reservations are required for all candle-making experiences after 5:00 p.m.
Plan Ahead: Online reservations close 4 hours before our final session of the evening so our team has time to prepare for your visit.

What does my $15 reservation include?
Your $15 reservation fee guarantees one seat and is applied as a credit toward one DIY experience for that guest.
Reservation fees are:
- Non-refundable
- Per person
- Applied to one item only
- Not transferable or combinable with other reservations
Please note: Group Experiences include additional time, reserved seating together, and other benefits, so Group Experience reservation fees are not applied as a credit toward crafts. Visit our Group Experience page to see what all the buzz is about!
Does everyone in my party have to make something?
Reserved seating is intended for guests participating in a DIY experience. If someone in your party is not making a craft or candle, we may not be able to guarantee them a seat.
For Group Experiences, please include all guests attending, including anyone who may prefer to observe rather than participate.
How long does an experience take?
Most DIY experiences take approximately 30–60 minutes, depending on what you choose to make and whether you're making multiple items.
Finish early? Stick around, grab a drink, explore Poppy & Pomelo, or just hang out!
How do I make sure we're seated together?
Please book everyone in your party under one reservation whenever possible. Because of our studio layout, we cannot guarantee that separate reservations will be seated together.
While we strive to make every seat the best seat in the house, private tables are not guaranteed unless you've booked a Group Experience or Private Event. Our studio is a shared space, so you may find yourself making alongside other guests—and possibly making a few new friends!
Groups of 6 or More
Groups of 6 or more guests must book a Group Experience.
Group Experiences allow us to:
- Reserve seating together
- Provide additional time for your experience
- Properly staff your group with a dedicated Craftender
- Prepare your supplies and space before you arrive
Larger groups simply take a little more time to choose fragrances, select projects, order drinks, and create together, so Group Experiences allow up to two hours to enjoy your visit.
Group Experience reservation fees are non-refundable because dedicated seating, staffing, and resources are reserved specifically for your party.

Is there an age limit?
We welcome makers of many ages, but please keep in mind that our experiences may involve hot wax, fragrance oils, glass vessels, tools, and other craft materials.
Anyone under 15 must have a guardian present.
Children must remain supervised at all times and may not explore the Poppy & Pomelo boutique unattended.

Can I take my candle home the same day?
Yes! Candles need approximately 30 minutes to cool and set before they're ready to travel.
While you wait, grab a drink, browse Poppy & Pomelo, or relax with your friends.
Do you serve drinks?
Yes! Our full-service bar offers cocktails, beer, wine, mocktails, soft drinks, and other non-alcoholic refreshments.
Can I bring my own drinks or alcohol?
No. Outside alcohol is not permitted under our ABC licensing.
For Private Events, we're happy to discuss bar packages for your group.
Do you have food? Can I bring food?
We offer charcuterie and grazing boards for studio experiences, special events, and pickup.
Our boards include a selection of cheeses, meats, crisps, fresh fruit, and sweet treats. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options are also available by request.
We also offer a rotating selection of snacks such as pretzels, chocolates, and cookies for purchase at the studio.
Outside food and catering are permitted for Private Events only.
Do you offer ADA access?
Yes. If you require ADA access, please call or text us before your visit so we can better accommodate you and direct you to our accessible side entrance.
Where do I park?
Good news—we have plenty of parking options nearby!
Metered street parking is available along High Street and Maxwell Street, with additional free street parking throughout the surrounding neighborhood and near Woodland Park.
How many fragrances do you offer?
We have 85+ fragrances to explore!
Choose one you love or blend up to three fragrances to create your own custom scent.
Why do you use coconut wax? Does it smell like coconuts?
No coconut smell here!
Coconut wax is a colorless, odorless wax made from coconut oil, making it an ideal base for custom fragrance blends. We love it because it burns cleanly, provides excellent fragrance performance, and offers a long, beautiful burn.
Do you offer candle refills?
Yes! Bring back an eligible vessel previously purchased from Poppy & Pomelo or Wick + Mortar Studio and refill it for up to 30% off.
You'll choose your fragrances and create a brand-new candle while giving your favorite vessel another life.
To be eligible for a refill, vessels must:
- Have been originally purchased from Poppy & Pomelo or Wick + Mortar Studio
- Be completely clean and free of wax, wicks, and debris
- Be free of chips, cracks, or other damage
For safety reasons, we cannot refill outside vessels. Our vessels and candle-making supplies are tested together for proper candle performance and safety.
A note about refill pricing: Refill savings are up to 30% off and are applied to the remaining amount due after any reservation credits, promotional discounts, loyalty rewards, or other offers. Because of this, some lower-priced crafts or candles may receive less than the full 30% refill discount.
Refill discounts have no cash value, cannot create a refund or store credit, and cannot reduce the amount due below $0.
What happens if I'm late?
We do our best to allow a 15-minute grace period for reservations.
Guests arriving more than 15 minutes after their scheduled time may be considered a no-show and their reservation may be canceled. Because seating is limited and reservations are scheduled throughout the day, our ability to accommodate late arrivals depends on current capacity, availability, and studio hours.

Do you sell gift cards online?
Yes! Gift cards are available to purchase online and can be redeemed online or in-store at both Poppy & Pomelo and Wick + Mortar Studio.
